Backtagging: Always!
Canon points: I follow both DR, DR2, and season 3 of the anime as I feel that these are all vital points of the series that apply to Makoto's character.
Cross-canon: I welcome it, whether in the form of other DR games (I'm not too savvy on the fangames though), and with canons I am both familiar and unfamiliar with.

Ships: M/F, though shipping is not a priority. In terms of canon mates, I do have a soft spot for Naegiri and Makoto/Mukuro. Admittedly also Sayakoto, as I honestly thing that girl was this boy's first love.
